Traditional log cabinSwedish Log Cabins are traditionally hand-rounding protocols that had been made especially in the left stack of wood.
As Scandinavian countries are very sparsely populated and also experience very cold winters, our wood is very, very slow growing, which have in turn lead to very hard durable wood. Today, all log cabins and chalets are are obtained by first processing of wood and then made, sometimes, hand finished. Although their origin is uncertain, the first log structures, probably in Northern Europe in the Bronze Age (ca. 3500 BC built). The insulating properties of solid wood were a great advantage over a timber frame covered with fur, felt, boards or shingles. A purlin roof consists of horizontal logs that are logged into the notched gable end. Traditional log cabins are a demonstration of craft and knowledge which should be prized for generations to come. |
